SkillBazaar (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use SkillBazaar — the open marketplace for discovering, sharing, and publishing AI agent skills.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information

    Your name, username, and email address when you create an account. Optionally, a short bio on your profile.

  • Skill Content

    Skill metadata (title, description, tags, category) you provide when publishing. For GitHub-sourced skills, we store a pointer to your repository — the actual files are read live from GitHub and are not copied to our servers.

  • Usage Data

    Page views, search queries, skill downloads, and browsing activity collected through analytics.

  • Device Information

    Browser type, device type, operating system, and IP address.

  • Cookies

    Small data files used for authentication and analytics. Session cookies keep you logged in across pages.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the SkillBazaar platform
  • Authenticate your account and keep your session secure
  • Display your published skills and public profile to other users
  • Track skill popularity (downloads, saves) to surface relevant content
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve search, discovery, and overall experience
  • Send important account-related communications (e.g. security notices, email verification)

4. AI Analysis

SkillBazaar offers an optional AI-powered analysis feature to earn the Verified badge. If you choose to use it, you supply your own Anthropic API key, which is transmitted directly to the analysis endpoint and used once to process your skill. Your API key is never stored. The analysis results (about, what it does, sample output, security and integrity findings) are saved to your skill listing if the check passes.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • PostHog

    Product analytics that tracks page views and usage events (such as sign-ups, skill publishes and installs, searches, and contact submissions) to help us understand and improve the platform. Governed by PostHog's Privacy Policy.

  • Cloudflare Turnstile

    A privacy-friendly CAPTCHA used on our contact forms to block spam and bots. Governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

  • GitHub

    For GitHub-sourced skills, we fetch file content from public GitHub repositories using the GitHub API. No private repository access is requested or stored.

  • Resend

    Used to send transactional emails such as email verification and contact form submissions. Email content is not stored beyond delivery.

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We do not sell or share your personal data with these providers beyond what is required to operate the platform.

6. Data Storage

Your account data (name, email, published skill metadata, collections) is stored securely in our database. Authentication session tokens are stored in secure, HTTP-only cookies that are not accessible to JavaScript. SkillBazaar does not collect or store any payment information — the marketplace is free to use.

7. Cookies

SkillBazaar uses cookies for two purposes: keeping you signed in (session cookies) and analytics tracking (cookies set by PostHog). You can disable third-party cookies in your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from staying logged in.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and HTTP-only session cookies. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your SkillBazaar account.

9. Public Content

All skills on SkillBazaar are public. Skills you publish — including their title, description, tags, category, and content — are visible to all visitors. Your username and public profile are also visible. There are no private or restricted skills on the platform.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Update or correct your account details from your profile settings
  • Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
  • Opt out of analytics tracking using browser extensions or privacy settings
